Bible Student prophecy was a coherent chronological system: the Times of the Gentiles, calculated from the Babylonian exile of 607 BCE, ran 2,520 years to 1914; in that year the Gentile Times ended and Christ began his invisible reign. Prophecy also taught a limited heavenly class of 144,000, an earthly class of faithful people, a coming battle of Armageddon, and the last days. When expected dates passed, the movement revised its explanations again and again.
